ABS is chosen for stencils because this type of plastic liquifies upon heating, instead of burning, which allows it to be readily injection-molded to any cutout or shape. Also, this plastic is easily recyclable, causing minimal harm to the environment.

Q. What is the size of supplemental signs for van accessible parking?

The length of the supplemental sign (that most states use) is 6 inches and the width is 12 inches. 6” x 12” is the minimum required size for Van Accessible supplemental signs by MUTCD (Section 2B.03). The minimum size is ideal for low-speed roadways where the reduced legend size would be sufficient to meet the regulation or where certain physical conditions hinder the use of the other sizes. Other sizes that we offer are 6” x 18”, 8” x 12”, and 9“ x 18”.
